The Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy-supported Armstrong equalled his previous best ERC result of sixth on the Welsh Tarmac event where he also banked his maiden stage victory aboard his Pirelli-equipped Ford Fiesta Rally3.
Armstrong, who is co-driven by Eoin Treacy, hopes to carry that form into round eight of the ERC season in Poland.
“We just really need to get our heads down and try to pick up we left off in Wales and carry the pace so we can get a strong result,” Armstrong said.
“The stages look to be quite technical with a lot of variation. The character and surface types are a bit like a mixture of Ypres and Barum.”
Armstrong starts Rally Silesia in sixth place in the overall ERC standings, albeit equal on 59 points with Simone Tempestini.
