Cachón, who completed the Rally Islas Canarias podium in May, round two of the 2024 FIA European Rally Championship, won the combined Rally2 Gravel and Tarmac event at the third running of the FIA Motorsport Games. The 25-year-old also topped the Rally2 Tarmac-only classification in his Toyota GR Yaris Rally2.
Backed by Real Federacion Española de Automovilismo, the Spanish federation, Cachón was competing on the back of winning the ERC Drive of the Year award, as voted by fans of the championship for his Rally Islas Canarias recovery drive.
Suárez, who lists fourth position on Rally Liepāja in 2017 and Rally Islas Canarias in 2018 as his best ERC results to date, claimed the Gravel Rally2 gold at the wheel of his Škoda Fabia RS Rally2.
After finishing third in the final 2024 FIA ERC3 Championship standings, Kerem Kazaz placed fourth in Rally4 Tarmac behind former Junior ERC driver René Noller from Germany. However, Team Türkiye’s representative retired his Peugeot 208 Rally4 on the opening stage of Friday’s Rally4 Gravel event with driveshaft failure.
