Junior pocket rockets go for ERC Greatest Car votes

Two FIA Junior ERC pocket rockets will bid for a place in the ERC Greatest Car quarter-finals as fans continue to choose their favourites of the championship’s modern era.

A dominant force during the early years of Junior ERC, Opel’s Adam R2 was used by Emil Bergkvist, Marijan Griebel, Chris Ingram and Mārtiṇš Sesks to win four successive titles, plus 17 category wins, for the German manufacturer.

Peugeot’s 208 Rally4 replaced its 208 R2 for the 2020 season and was a winner in its first year courtesy of Pep Bassas before Norbert Maior took the coveted title in 2023.

Here are the key numbers and don’t forget to follow the ERC’s social media channels to vote.

ERC Greatest Car of the modern era explained
It’s not just the drivers who have starred since the FIA European Rally Championship calendar was streamlined into the format recognisable today.

Following that landmark moment in 2004, some of the greatest rally cars ever built have battled for glory in the various categories that continue to ensure the ERC remains as popular as it is relevant.

Fans can vote from a shortlist of 16 great ERC cars prepared by our team of experts. Employing bracketology, voting is available through the ERC’s social media channels with a 24-hour window to vote for each pairing. The winner will be announced on 4 December.

Included on the shortlist are the Peugeot 207 S2000, Renault Clio S1600 Škoda Fabia S2000, and many more.
