Co-driver Lenzi on winning, never giving up and her big ERC goal

Virginia Lenzi enjoyed a breakthrough FIA European Rally Championship season when she co-drove Andrea Mabellini to victory for Team MRF Tyres on the season-deciding Rally Silesia.

FIAERC.com spoke to the 26-year-old Italian at the completion of the Polish round. This is what she had to say.

On winning Rally Silesia…
“We are very happy, we have not realised yet what we have done. We can’t wait to see our families, we want to thank them, thank our team, thank MRF for believing in us from the first day in the Rally2 class. We have won our first ERC event, so we are very happy.   On what made it possible… “We always believe that we can reach a good result, we don’t give up and this is the result.”

On winning even bigger in 2025…
“It’s difficult to win a championship, you have to be consistent but let’s start to work for the next year, to be here at the start of the ERC in 2025, that’s our main goal. We hope for some more help.”

On getting revenge…
“We have had lots of up and and down moments we can say. We were reaching a good result last year in Rome but then we had a puncture on the second to last stage but then we won the Power Stage. We also won some other last stages. This year the year started not so good but ending with a second place in Wales and a victory in Poland is really great.”
