Tarmac titan Talaš “comfortable” in ERC3 Junior
ACCR Czech Rally Team driver Jan Talaš believes his greater experience on asphalt will help him up the FIA ERC3 Junior Championship order when he makes his Rally Islas Canarias debut this week.
The Czech 2WD and Junior champion arrived in the Azores with no previous gravel-driving experience but kept out of trouble to finish sixth, landing a maiden ERC3 Junior stage win in the process.
But having made his name on sealed surfaces, Talaš is optimistic about putting on an even stronger display in Las Palmas.
“We are really looking forward to Rally Islas Canarias and we would like to fight for better positions than on Azores,” he said. “I am more comfortable and experienced on Tarmac, so we can be more successful.”
With Erik Cais absent due to school exams and Dominik Brož not competing, Talaš and Petr Semerad will represent the ACCR Czech Rally Team in the Pirelli-supported ERC3 Junior division. Meanwhile, team captain Vojtĕch Štajf will be in action in ERC1 at the wheel of the ŠKODA Fabia R5 he shares with co-driver Veronika Havelková.
