All-nighter goes unrewarded as Brož recalls early ERC Junior exit woe
Dominik Brož suffered home FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship heartache when a broken wheel resulted in his early exit from Barum Czech Rally Zlín.
Brož, part of the ACCR Czech Rally Team, had high hopes of a strong finish in the Pirelli-supported category but his hopes were over early on Saturday morning when he attempted to leave service in Otrokovice.
“We hit a big wall on Friday night in the city stage and broke the wheel,” explained Brož, who is co-driven by fellow Czech Petr Těšínský. “We get a penalty but the mechanics worked all night to repair the damage. In the morning the car was okay but when we leave service the gearbox was not working and we could not leave service. It was very disappointing.”
