Miko Marczyk

Date of birth : 24/10/1995

Who is he? A rising star of Polish rallying having enjoyed a rapid… rise! Three years ago, Marczyk was an amateur karter and university student. Now, as well as being a graduate in finance and management, he’s a winner in the Polish championship driving for his country’s ŠKODA importer, which has returned to the sport this season following a seven-year absence.

Impressive stuff! Yes, Marczyk’s first season of rallying was in 2016 at the wheel of a Honda Civic Type-R. Subaru Poland liked what it saw and after handing him the keys to a Subaru Impreza Proto for the annual Barbórka Warszawska in December of that year, signed him up for a full Polish championship campaign in 2017 aboard an Impreza STI N15.

Missed opportunity: Marczyk, who teaches safe driving when he’s not rallying, had been due to make his ERC debut on last year’s Rally Rzeszow only for a testing crash to leave his car badly damaged to the extent he was a non-starter.

Every cloud: Despite that setback, Marczyk quickly bounced back. Following a strong end to his season, ŠKODA Polska Motorsport came calling and chose Marczyk for its Polish championship bid.

Payback: Marczyk bagged his first win on the Polish championship’s away weekend in Lithuania earlier this month, which was also his first proper gravel rally.
