Kalum Graffin will start Rally 6 Cities North of Portugal from 23 - 25 October in contention for the runner-up spot in FIA ERC3 – impressive stuff for his debut season in the championship.

Why did you choose the ERC for 2026? “The ERC is one of the most competitive championships in the world and for us and our career it was the best learning curve.”
What target did you set yourself for this season? “Our goal was to gain as much experience and over the events get the seconds per kilometre closer and closer to the leaders.”
What were you hoping to learn from competing in the ERC? “To improve my consistency and adaptability, while gaining experience competing at this higher level.”

Who’s your rallying hero and why? “Craig Breen as he is an inspiration to everyone from Ireland.”
What’s your greatest achievement in rallying/motorsport so far? “My greatest achievement so far would be becoming the youngest winner of a round of the Junior BRC.”
Looking back to your first rally, when was it and where, what car did you drive and what happened? “I was 14 in the Scotland Junior Championship. I drove a one-litre Škoda Citago and we ended up winning the event on the last stage.”

Looking to the future, where do you hope to be in five years? “I think everyone wants to be in the WRC but as we know it’s easier said than done so we will have to work really hard towards this.”
If you weren’t a rally driver, what sport would you like to do? “If I wasn’t a rally driver I would still be involved in rallying as it’s the family business so I would either be a mechanic or selling rally cars.”

When you are not competing what do you do to keep busy? “Whenever I am not rallying at the weekends most of the time I am a mechanic at rallies, which think will help me in the future.”
Tell us something interesting about yourself? “I drove my first Rally2 car when I was 12.”
