ERC stars Breen and Molinaro team-up at Monza

Successful FIA European Rally Championship drivers past and present, Craig Breen and Tamara Molinaro, will team-up for this weekend’s Monza Rally.

The traditional season-closer at the Italian Grand Prix venue attracts a large and varied entry with a number of leading rally drivers and other motorsport stars in action.

For this year’s event, Breen and partner Molinaro (pictured) will compete in a Pirelli-equipped Citroën DS3 WRC with Molinaro – the ERC Ladies’ Trophy champion – switching from driving to co-driving for the occasion.

Breen tweeted: “Happy to be driving with Tamara on the notes. Should be fun, thanks to all for making it possible.”

Alexey Lukyanuk’s impromptu alliance with Hugo Magalhães proved to be a big success when they won Rallye de Tierra de Astorga in Spain yesterday.

FIA ERC Junior Under 27 podium finisher Karel Kupec is calling on the rallying community to help his brother Radomír’s ongoing recuperation from serious injuries sustained in a rally crash earlier this year.

Jari Huttunen, who will step up to the FIA World Rally Championship WRC2 category in 2018 after finishing runner-up in the FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship this season, has received yet more recognition.

Citroën’s all-new C3 R5 is set to be a contender for honours in 2018 when it will be eligible for the FIA European Rally Championship.

FIA ERC Under 27 Championship frontrunner Filip Mareš was praised after an impressive showing on Rallye du Var last month.
