Noller gets help from the top to make Junior ERC move

René Noller is getting ready for career lift-off in the FIA European Rally Championship’s Junior ERC category this season.

The 20-year-old tried the highly competitive young driver category for size on Rally Islas Canarias last May.

And with the support of the ADAC Stiftung Sport and the DMSB, the German ASN, Noller will represent the Motorsport Team Germany talent-backing initiative during a combined bid for Junior ERC and ERC4 glory over a full campaign.

“It’s hard to believe, but I will start in ERC4 and Junior ERC and fight for points,” said Noller. “Together with the professional team OPV from Slovenia and the Peugeot 208 Rally4 we will try to take the maximum experience with us in the first year of the JERC.”

Noller added: “I am very grateful to all sponsors, supporters, patrons and, of course, the ADAC Sports Foundation for an important step in my career.”

The second-generation rally driver will contest the six-round Junior ERC title chase alongside co-driver and compatriot Natalie Solbach-Schmidt, who “will show me the way through the most demanding rallies in Europe”, according to Noller.

With the 10th Junior ERC season firing into life on ORLEN 79 Rally Poland from 19 - 21 May, Noller will contest the DMSB Rallye Cup at the wheel of an Opel Corsa Rally4 in order to keep sharp when he’s not on international duty.

Meanwhile, the all-asphalt Rally Islas Canarias is up next on the ERC schedule from 4 - 6 May.
