Liepāja, 16 August 2020: Breakthrough Result
After
missing out on a ERC1 Junior podium on Rally di Roma Capitale, which hosted the
delayed start to the 2020 FIA European Rally Championship season, Munster, then
an official Hyundai Junior Driver, held third position in class throughout the
high-speed Latvian gravel event for his medium top-three finish in the class
for young stars in Rally2 cars.
Rally Fafe Montelongo, 4 October 2020: Junior Joy
It was a triple celebration for Munster on
the Tarmac event in northern Portugal. Not only did the Luxembourg driver score
win number one in ERC1 Junior, he also bagged his first outright ERC stage win
and European championship top-three finish. “We’re really happy with the
performance we showed this weekend,” Munster said at the time. “The pace was
good and we did some really good times. It’s only our third participation with
an R5 in the ERC. The level is really high here and we can be really proud of
that.”

Hungary, November 8, 2020: Second Best
Munster staked his claim to the FIA ERC1
Junior title with a second successive victory as two damaged tyres hit rival
Oliver Solberg’s hopes hard on day one. But Munster, in his family-run BMA
Autosport Hyundai i20 R5, had issues of his own when his car failed to start
prior to leaving overnight parc fermé and then service on the final morning.
Undeterred, the rising star hit back to win his class in a fine second overall
alongside Belgian co-driver Louis Louka.
The 2023 FIA European Rally Championship
reaches its climax on Rally Hungary from 6 - 8 October.
