Winter action ahead for ERC contenders

Several drivers with recent FIA European Rally Championship experience will be aiming to impress on events in Latvia, Norway and Sweden this weekend.

Kaspar Kasari, Jarosław Kołtun (above), Joosep Ralf Nõgene, Karl-Markus Sei, Mark-Egert Tiits and Jasper Vaher are among those due to contest Rally Alūksne in Latvia from 19 - 20 January.

Drivers lining up for the Swedish championship-opening Hälsingerallyt (19 - 20 January) include Mattias Adielsson, Fredrik Åhlin, Kalle Gustavsson, Tom Kristensson and Denis Rådström (below).

Isak Reiersen, who swept to a spectacular maiden Junior ERC victory on BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia last July, will also be competing on the Hälsingerallyt. The 20-year-old Swedish talent will use the event to make his second appearance at Rally2 level aboard a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2.

Meanwhile in Norway, Frank Tore Larsen, who was in the podium battle on last year’s BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia until he crashed heavily, is the top seed for the Sigdalsrally, round one of the Norwegian championship season on 20 January.

The 2024 FIA European Rally Championship begins in the city of Veszprém, venue of V Rally Hungary from 12 - 14 April. The second running of BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia counts as the third event of the ERC season from 13 - 15 June.
